Regulations & Guidelines

- All residential students are expected to attend morning assembly promptly. This begins at 7:45 a.m. sharp.
- All students are required to attend lectures punctually. Students will not be permitted to sit an examination, if course-work has not been handed in or if they are absent for more than 10% of the contact hours in a course without a reason ac ceptable to the principal.
- Students are not allowed visitors during class time.
- All visitors, male and female should enquire for students at the Reception Area.
- Visitors must be entertained in the area assigned to visitors, and may not enter the residences.
- promoting in its students an appreciation of the need for spiritual, emotional, and social growth.
- All students must sign the exit book on leaving and on returning to the campus. This book is kept at the gate.
- ID cards must be shown at the gate on returning to the campus.
- There must be no standing at by the Shortwood gate at nights.
- There must be no loitering at the gate at any time
- After 9:00 p.m., students must not be seen at the gate
Campus Dress Code

There is an official uniform for year 1 and year 11 students. As of this year only third year and post diploma students will be in professional dress. Shortwood students are expected to dress in a professional manner at all times. You are also required to sign a form agreeing to abide by the guidelines for dress.
The following guidelines are based on the presumption that students should try to look smart and professional , not casual, during class time (7:30 a.m. –5:00 p.m.)
- Slippers or sandals should not be worn during class time or sit examinations. Only closed shoes should be worn.
- Pants, ankle length dresses and jeans skirts snot NOT be worn to classes.
- Bras should be worn at all times.
- Skirts should be lined or worn with slips or half-slips.
- No sun-top/summer dresses should be worn during class time.
- Skirt hems should be cover the knee and be no more than 3 inches below the knee.
- No low-cut or sleeveless blouses, and no body blouses or T-shirts should be worn during class.
- Hair must always be clean and neatly combed in an acceptable style when coming out of the unit. Extensions must be same in colour as the natural hair. No tinted or bleached hair is accepted.
- Sneakers (canvas shoes and track shoes) may not be worn to classes except for Physical Education.
- T-shirts with slogans should not be worn on the campus at anytime.
- All clothes must be adequate in size. Clothes that fit too tightly and with exaggerated splits will not be acceptable.
- Single pair of ear-rings to be worn in the ear lobe, these should not exceed on inch in diameter.
- No female student is allowed to wear pants to classes.
- Early Childhood and home Economics students are allowed to wear tailored and modestly fitting pant suits on teaching practice, no spandex is allowed.
- Thong slippers are not to be worn to offices, library or formal meetings.
- Students who are not in uniform or professional dress will not be allowed in classes.
